Annual Seafood Festival held on the Quay, stalls run from the inner harbour to the harbour mouth. Loads of fish and shellfish are cooked in front of you by experts and enthusiasts alike – there is beach art and brass bands, mackerel barbecues and jazz, shanty singers, crab-picking and catching competitions and whelk racing – Music in the evening at the pier head!

In 1807, the Reverend Alban Thomas Jones Gwynne obtained a Private Act of Parliament, which enabled him to build the Harbour and thus found the town of Aberaeron. We are proud of the maritime, industrial, architectural and cultural heritage, which has grown with the town. In 2007, our Bicentenary year, we are celebrating our heritage and giving thanks to all those who have contributed in so many ways towards Aberaeron.

The Aberaeron festival takes the horse to the people in a spectacular attempt to raise awareness of the breed.

A festival honouring the mackerel and acknowledge its importance to the life of the town. Probably the best carnival in Wales with plenty of jazz from the Adamant Jazz Band.

Lôn Cambria crosses the heart of Mid Wales between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. The 113 mile (182 km) cycle route is a journey along country lanes, river valleys, trails and mountain roads with panoramic views of the Welsh countryside.

One of the world's great libraries, it has a huge collection of works about Wales and the other Celtic countries as well as thousands of manuscripts and archives, pictures and photographs, maps, sound recordings and moving images (all the resources are available free of charge to the over 16s).
